Dr. Dimitry Likterev was born in Kiev, Ukraine and moved to United States as a child. He grew up in Milwaukee, attended High school there and went on to University of Wisconsin for his undergraduate studies. He then went on to National University of Health Sciences (formerly NCC), receiving his Bachelors of Human Biology, and then Doctor of Chiropractic degree from the University.
Dr. Likterev developed his interest in Chiropractic medicine while in college, when he was treated by a chiropractor for a motorcycle injury. Dr. Likterev’s interest in natural medicines and sports rehab also included extensive studies of neurology, acupuncture and Kinesio Taping, in which he is certified and is member of KTAI. He is also certified and practices MUA (manipulation under anesthesia). In addition, Dr. Likterev uses latest treatment and assessment tools available, such as Flexion-Distraction tables and Foot Levelers orthotic supports.
Dr. Likterev has volunteered and worked as sports chiropractor at numerous sports events, including World Swimming Championship in Goteberg, Sweden. There, his athlete, Vlad Pyshnenko took all three (50m, 100m, 200m free) gold medals for the events he has participated in.
Today, after many years in practice, Dr. Likterev continues to read, take seminars and pursue clinical excellence by keeping up with any information that might be helpful to his patients.
Dr. Layal Rashid first became interested in alternative medicine while growing up in Cyprus where most people would choose natural options to cure ailments before resorting to drugs or surgery.
During her undergraduate degree in Canada she began working with an on-campus Chiropractor and learning more about this discipline. After graduating with her Doctor of Chiropractic degree from National University of Health Sciences in Lombard, IL in 2006 she also became interested in Acupuncture and Oriental Medicine.
She later became certified in Acupuncture through the same university and currently utilizes both in her practices. Dr. Layal is also certified with Sole Supports for custom foot orthotics.
Karina received her Bachelor’s degree in Science and Nursing from the University of Illinois Champaign-Urbana in 2009, and has been with Absolute Health Clinic since December 2010.
In addition to her educational background, she has volunteered as a triage student nurse and is currently a volunteer nurse at Health Reach Inc. Her mission as a Registered Nurse in the clinic is to provide high quality patient care by improving the physical and psychological well-being of patients, advocating for them, and implementing care plans developed by the Doctors of Chiropratic to facilitate a faster recovery.
Julie graduated from ASIS massage education school on September 2008 as a massage therapist. She is part of our team of professionals since February 2009 working as a front desk receptionist, chiropractor assistant and as a massage therapist. Julie is also a Certified Nurse Assistant and she is working on becoming a Registered Nurse.
